The owners of this apartment in Moscow wanted it to be bright and spacious and reflect their personalities and passion to travel. They must have very outgoing and eclectic personalities because WOW is this space ever both of those! Such vibrant colours, and unique details like the mural behind the tub, the rug made from used clothing and cushion from vintage jeans army tents and a Chinoiserie mural by the kitchen.? I really admire designer Daria Vasilkova‘s creativity and attention to detail. (Love the glass wall sconces repeated throughout the apartment in rather random placements)

I can appreciate traditional and antique furnishings, but when typically pared with a pale/drab colour palette I am always left underwhelmed and dreamy of 80 year old grannies curled up on the sofa crocheting. Designer Nick Olsen took the rustic bones of this farmhouse, added some sassy in-your-face colours and patterns for a more youthful juxtaposition and WOW – this sure ain’t Granny Mae’s digs anymore!

A perfume warehouse conversion in London

Dreaming of lofts as I always do, and this 4700 sq ft 4 story former perfume warehouse in London is an absolutely gorgeous conversion. I am so relieved to see that most of the original architectural details were preserved. The floors and windows are exceptional. And with all that open space your furniture layout options are limitless. I’d spend my weekends thrifting and rearranging everything ?? For sale via The Modern House.

The home of Washington, DC interior designer Melissa Colgan is the perfect example of how adding lots of patterns and layers in a small space (712 sq ft) can make it feel much grander than it is. There are so many styles going on here and it’s so thoughtfully curated and everything works so well together. This is how you do eclectic!

An update on this Victorian home in London

Posted on Tue, 14 Jul 2020 by KiM

Back in 2015 I featured the home of the very talented interiors photographer Debi Treloar, that was available for photo shoots via jj Locations. While perusing their site the other day I noticed it is still listed, but seems to have had a bit of a makeover since my last post. The flooring in the kitchen/living room area is now polished concrete which I LOVE, and the kitchen has a darker, moodier colour palette which I prefer to the previous version. Debi has such a knack for working with vintage finds and maintaining original details. Such a gorgeous home.
