I cannot imagine living this close to the ocean. How incredible would these views be in person?!?! This is the iconic Butterfly House?originally designed by Frank Wynkoop in 1950. Many bland renovations since, Jamie Bush was hired on by the current homeowners to give it a total restoration with major upgrades to bring it back to its organic roots. What a dream home!

I think mid century homes will always and forever be a favourite architectural style of mine. This home, ‘Villa Bonna’ in?Hov?s which is south of Gothenburg, Sweden, ticks all the right boxes for mid century century eye candy, with the bonus that it cantilevers over a rock face and a pond. Recently renovated, it’s stunning and I love the kitchen design with the large windows overlooking the outdoor space, and the teak slatted ceilings and walls are such a warm, earthy touch. The renovation of a 19th Century Bellport Long Island sea captain’s house by C.S. Valentin saw the marriage of the house’s beautifully uncomplicated bones and a mid century aesthetic. It’s been called “Mid Century Shaker” even “Flintstone Chic”. I call it simply sublime.
