Sunday at a bar, restaurant and café

Posted on Sun, 19 Jul 2020 by KiM

As of this past Friday, we Ontarians are able to once again eat inside a restaurant, bar etc, go to a gym and pretty much anywhere we used to pre-pandemic (but of course, wearing masks where possible indoors, and often is the law). Several of my favourite shops and restaurants choose to be cautious and are open by appointment only or continue to only offer takeout or patio only. If enjoying some time in a restaurant, bar or café were as simple as it was a few months ago, any of these beautiful spaces designed by Paris-based firm Laplace would be ideal.

Masculine and marble

Posted on Fri, 3 Jul 2020 by midcenturyjo

Floor to ceiling carrara marble, a deep soaker tub next to a gas fire place, dark rich walnut against the bling of gold. It’s luxurious with a hint of retro and a definite masculine feel. Timeless and sophisticated. Bathroom dreams from Colorado based Studio Thomas.

A modern classic home in Michigan

Lots of brightness and warmth in this Michigan home designed by Jean Stoffer. It is a wonderful example of how to break up lots of white with some dark moments. The black front door, the dark kitchen coffee bar, the charcoal tile and millwork in the mudroom, the navy wainscotting and ceiling in the dining room, the dark green nursery…. all add drama and coziness.

Killing Matt Woods was inspired by the?mid century modernism and the gardens and architecture of Palm Springs when designing The Rooftop bar?at the Quarryman’s Hotel in?Pyrmont, NSW, Australia.?“The Rooftop” aims to attract the diverse crowds which populate the many creative offices &?aims to attract the diverse crowds which populate the many creative offices & studio spaces within the Pyrmont peninsula, & hopes to give this City fringe suburbs occupants a genuine?alternative environment from which to dance the night away. The circles that repeat throughout the space and the reclaimed multi-coloured timber floor make this eye-catching and really special.?

A Madrid apartment with feminine glam touches

Posted on Sun, 21 Jun 2020 by KiM

I love this really pretty apartment in Madrid, home to?Paula Ordovás,?fashion journalist,?influencer?and blogger at?Mypeeptoes.?A pink sofa, brass accents, ornate mirrors and chandeliers give this space a feminine glam vibe. Some fun vintage finds are throughout – my favourite being the brass palm tree lamp from the 40’s in the photo above. SO FUN! Via Nuevo Estilo, photos by Pablo Sarabia.
