An unusual house in Amsterdam

Framework’s Canal house is characterised by an unexpected imperfection. That aesthetic runs through the entire house, with playful and creative spaces that provoke, making you look twice. With an outside truthful to its 19th-Century heritage and an inside that refuses to conform to traditional symmetry, the house sparks people to feel comfortable and -at the same time- to also look around and ask questions.”

Quirky luxury with a touch of wabi sabi in a historic Canal house in Amsterdam? Beauty that makes you think.

Très original, j’aime bien.

LOVE love love: the sensibility, the palette, the textures, the art the light. Every room shows a perfect harTmony of all the elements of interior.

BUT. Can someone help me out? All the benches/banquettes. The two spaces side by side, left has a long bench in front of a long, narrow table/shelf. I keep trying to figure out how this space is supposed to funtion. The space to the right: the sexy curvy banquette. Absolutely beautiful. But I can’t help but think about how difficult it would be to scoot to the far end of the seating. And lastly. I adore the four green velvet settees in the kitchen. I adore everything about them. And I adore the space. But you would have to move the table away from the settees against the wall to be able to actually sit on them. That gorgeous table looks pretty heavy.
Is it jus me?

Lisa says:

It’s not just you. The seating arrangements you mentioned are impossible.
