Working on a Saturday or should that be working out on a Saturday? Bodylove, a pilates, yoga and barre studio in Sydney’s Woollahra by Lane & Grove.

A colourful modern apartment in Moscow

Posted on Fri, 29 Nov 2019 by KiM

Ilya Guliants and Katya Alagich of Moscow-based design firm el Born studio?created an exuberant and somewhat whimsical space for a young couple with 2 children. The kitchen/dining floor tile is gorgeous and with the dark teal cabinetry is such a eye-catching combination. Loving the graphic paint treatment on the living room wall, the unique dining room pendant and the bold wallpaper in the bedroom. Lots of fun all around!

A subtle kitchen transformation

Posted on Fri, 29 Nov 2019 by KiM

Kiki, who lives in London, sent over some before and after photos of her kitchen renovation and I love the subtle yet effective transformation of the space. It started off white and ended in white, but a lighter countertop and a massive window really lighten up the space. This kitchen is the same shape as mine yet I think slightly longer, and what I would do to add a window like this! (I can’t – would mean breaking through brick, and then staring at my neighbour’s house and driveway 6 ft away).

The after pics below. I love how neutral it is. You can throw a Persian rug down, add a bright bowl on the counter and completely transform it.

A juicy design

I love it when a staid and proper terrace is all party house out the back. Fabulous extension to this Paddington, Sydney home by Juicy Design.

On the edge

Steel, timber and glass? float on the edge, hovering above the trees. Outside it appears to be a simple pavilion but step to the side on you see its two storeys sit on a monolithic concrete base. The simplicity of line and materials continues inside with a distinct Scandinavian feel. Not surprising as it is a private summer house high above Torsbyfj?rden outside Stockholm.
