Kate Lester Interiors

Posted on Tue, 31 Oct 2017 by KiM

Relaxing, vivacious, polished, timeless. I really love every project Los Angeles based interior designer Kate Lester has worked her magic on. This is just a sample from various homes that caught my eye. I adore the chair in the photo above.

Urban oasis

A new extension hidden from the street. Contemporary meets heritage. Walls of glass versus walls of Federation red brick. Inside and out merge while light and cool breezes cross thresholds of sliding glass. Travertine floors and timber slat ceilings. Serene and introspective, the perfect urban oasis. Nolan House by Melbourne-based architectural firm Coy Yiontis.

Tuesday is cancelled

Posted on Tue, 31 Oct 2017 by midcenturyjo

Did you get the memo? Tuesday is cancelled. No work, no family responsibilities, no problem! Instead we are meeting up for drinks by the pool at the Gravity hotel in Bali. Maybe they’ll cancel Wednesday and Thursday as well.

Happy #nationalcatday! ????

Happy #blackcatday from my very favourite one! Black cats are the least likely to be adopted – possibly because of superstition, and (crazily) more recently because they don’t make good social media fodder due to them being hard to photograph. Personally I’m a big fan of being a bit spooky, and for a black blob with eyes I think he takes a rather good picture! I love Eddie Danger to the moon and back, he’s the best cat in the world! It’s not always obvious on Insta just how big a part of my life he is but he’s always here, being adorable and for the most part good! So anyway, happy day old chum, and if you’re in the market for adopting a cat – consider joining the #blackcatsclub ????… #blackcatappreciation #eddiedangercat

Yay! Styling the NYC co-op and loving it!! This amazing rug by @wellwovenrugs is stealing the show! (I’ve got my eye on a couple more of their gorgeous rugs!) And because there simply should be a cat in every design shot, meet Henry (my daughter’s cat ??). ?? ? ? ? #archdigest #homewithrue #apartmenttherapy #howwedwell #colourmyhome #mycovetedhome #showemyourstyled #sodomino #lonnymag #simplystyleyourspace #mydomaine #beckiowensfeature #ehdweekendmakeover #theeverygirlathome #mybhg #ourtruehaven #ambularinteriorsaintgotnothingonme #hgtvmagazine #betterhomesandgardens #pocketofmyhome #archdigest #dslooking #smmakelifebeautiful #bhghome #interior4all #currenthomeview #howivintage #modernboho #lcdotcomloves #foundforaged

Lush and green

Posted on Mon, 30 Oct 2017 by midcenturyjo

After a dry, dry winter the rains have come and my garden has sprung to back to life with new growth and a flush of flowers but oh how I wish this Melbourne garden by Ben Scott Garden Design was mine! The front is filled with free flowing plantings, lush and green beneath mature trees. (I’ll admit I’ve always wanted a swing tied to a big old bough.) A more structured garden with alfresco entertaining space, fireplace and kitchen garden completes the space.
